Rumours about for scrapping the away goal rule....whats your opinions?? I think nowadays it works opposite than it used to, was brought in to encourage away team to attack but to me in this age of lucrative prize money its just made the home team more negative so as not to concede. Just think both teams would express themselves more without having the fear of giving away an away goal, why should one goal count for more just cos it was scored a few miles away. But also what about this.... take tonight as an example, United n barca finish 1-1 after 90 mins so barca go through on away goals fair n square (no complaints, not even from this bitter manc), but if its o-o after 90mins and then in extra time both teams score then barca still go through on the away goal rule.....but technically aint they had 120 mins to score an away goal compared to Uniteds 90 (ok so some of are u are now sayin, "so fuk, its man u" lol) or the scouse n chels game...if its 0-0, chelsea go through on the fact they scored at anfield, but cudnt u argue that they wasnt able to score a home goal whereas liverpool could

When I was at school,the inter school 6 a sides used to award 2 points for a goal and 1 for a corner.That gave the teams more incentive to play attacking football.Try that for a season.

true tho....1 team gets an extra half hour for an away goal

i was saying this last night ... bit unfair tbh

i'd suggest that this half an hour advantage is somewhat negated by the advantage of being at home second.

Not that I'm one to point out the bleeding obvious, lol
