Clee RNA drew 3-3 with Spiders Web 2nds in Division 8 in front of an expectant crowd of 31.
Spiders started strongly against a well organised Clee side, taking the game to them.Strong pressure soon told when Nick Crawford won the ball in midfield and released Paul Jackson who in turn laid the ball to Trev Crawford to make it 1-0.
A couple of minutes later,Neil Moore split the Clee defence for Rick Gaunt to fire home, bursting the net in the process.
Spiders sat back and let Clee into the game, turning round at 2-2 thanks to goals from Simon Chapple and Kevin Swaine.
Spider must have rued missed chances, particularly from the Crawfords when their efforts went wide.Spiders put on the pressure from the start of the 2nd half,a well taken short free kick between Rick Gaunt and Dave Mcgregor resulting in Trev Crawford heading just wide.
Spiders went in front when Gaunt played Crawford through and he rounded the Clee keeper to score.Clee hit back though and equalised with a header by Chapple from a free kick.
Spiders had chances to win but so did RNA with Mcgregor having to make a goal line clearance and young keeper Stephen Best doing well to keep the scores level.
The enjoyable game was well refereed by T.Albery.Thanks go to Clee RNA and their linesman Simon Lamming who did not put a flag wrong.Man of the mAtch for Spiders Web was Neil Moore.

think it was 96-97 season rousey,Clee RNA won the div 8 title that year if i remember rightly and that Simon Chapple was lethal upfront and from what i hear is still causing defences havoc in div 4 nowadays, reckon Duffy will back me up on that 1 cos he was his best man a few years ago

Paul Jackson, used to go to school with him, little fucker took my place in the Nunsthorpe team in our cup final at Blundell park when I was out with a broken leg. Used to call him squeaker on the account he was as quiet as a mouse. Good player, last time I saw him he said he had given up playing footie to play more snooker. Sad Fuck!!

Never heard of him Simon,Mr chapple er I mean Chiffy, well, not a Simon Chapple who's causing havoc to defences anyway, we've got a Chapple who gets a run out as sub now and again

Think we won it year before them no.14, will dig the medal out to see how many moons ago it was. Still got a quality photo of our cup win with you looking rather fresh faced and innocent, but that was when you was known as Dennis

Ah yeah i know which Chapple your on about Duffy, the 1 who gets a run out off the subs bench now and again because he is the most unselfish player in the whole of the sunday league and puts everyone elses enjoyment before his own,yep that sounds like him.
