Its called progress boys.Theres been lots of changes to the game over the years,some good some not so good.There used to be a 3rd div North and a 3rd div South as teams were not rich enough to travel distances.That changed.Then the introduction of subs,games regularly finished with 10 men because a player was injured.Rules for goalies,4 step rule,6 second rule,backpass rule.Offsides been changed.European Cup became Champions League.European Cupwinners Cup became UEFA Cup.Inter Cities Cup done away with.Home Internationals are no longer played.4th officials introduced.Extra time and penalties for Cup Finals instead of replays.So this is just another example of the powers that be dreaming up another scheme to justify their existence.All the other changes,and Im sure theres more, got people moaning and caused discussions in pubs but you accept it and after a while people forget how things used to be.

to be honest i think its a shambles of an idea,
whats wrong with the little pre-season tournament they have in malaysia or wherever it is?  

thats what ive been talkin about today steve.

they already have pre season friendlys in other countrys...

they have the world tours...

they have the champions league & Uefa cup

I can see the positive in it when they say every team could make up to £5m for the one game, that could be a massive boost to a club like Derby or Fulham or somebody like that. I still think its a bad idea though the players play a congested season as it is.

Poor jetlagged,hard done by little darlings.What they have to put up with for their 100 grand a week is beyond belief.

isnt the point though is it,
doesnt matter how much theyre paid theyll still be jetlagged...

and what happens if a team like man u chelsea liverpool arsenal havta play someone like derby in australia...

then fly all the way backor to milan or something for a big prem game or big champs league game...

n lose due to the team not bein fully fit because of the stupid game abroad.

You dumb or what? lol. It doesnt say anything about 38 games and another 39 games. It says they will play the original 38 games like they do now and then plays abroad which if you add up 38 + 1 abroad = 39. Jesus your hard work mate lol

but theyve only agreed in principal to listen to ideas so far, ok, they say they may seed the top 5 teams to avoid playin each other but thing is i can hardly see the people of beijing or sydney gettin excited for a mid/bottom table clash of middlesborough v fulham or wigan v birmingham
