Both teams were out warming up nice and early eagerly awaiting kick off which was to be over seen by Mr S.Wright and his two trusty assistants.
Pattesons were the slight favourites going into the game despite losing their last game in disastrous fashion with at least 6 regulars missing, fortunately for Co-Managers Dave Mann and Bruce Forbes they were able to pick from a full strength squad and indeed had the strongest bench of Hannibal,Williamson,Hall,Jagger and Hill that they have had all season.
The first half was a cagey affair with Pattesons sitting deep sussing out their more robust opponents, tackles were flying in left right and centre from both sides but little goal mouth action was seen until Pattesons burst into life and a cracking lob/cross from Shay Elliot was brilliantly chested controlled and played into the path of Tommy Barber who hit a low hard shot screaming into the bottom corner.
This seemed to spur Steelers into action and they pushed on vigourously winning possesion in the Pattesons half and forcing a corner from which Chris Ward was adjudged to have used his elbow and a penalty was given, young Liam Anderson stepped up and fired a ferocious shot only to be tipped over with one hand brilliantly by Captain Johnson in the Pattesons Goal.
From the resulting corner a Steelers player rifled in a 20 yard screamer which was headed off the line by Wayne Smith who had stayed on his post.
Pattesons soaked the pressure up with Chris Cole and Adie Clarke masterfully clearing their lines - a special mention to the latter whose brother had unfortunately passed away only days before the game.
This was to be the last of Steelers as a forward threat as Pattesons took control of the game, right on half time Crooks fired home following a great through ball from Dent scoring his 21st goal in all competitions.
After the break it was all one way traffic with Pattesons playing some really exciting stuff, the combination of Winchester and Dent on the left providing some great football and it was from a 35 yard inch perfect pass from Dent that Nathan Crooks latched on and rifled home an unstoppable strike across the goalkeeper.
The game as a contest was effectively over but to Steelers credit they kept plugging away.
Pattesons had their foot fully on the throttle now and good work from the returning Liam White on the right set a free kick up which Dent was able to find Man of the Match Barber who turned and volleyed into the back of the net capping a fine game for the player.
He then made way for substitute Hannibal who after a mix up in the Steelers defence fired in from close range.
Pattesons now move onto their first ever cup final, they thank Steelers for a good spirited game and wish them all the best for the rest of the season.
