-------------------------------------------------------
Evolution Media Design travelled to Matty Humberston school to face Tap & Spile in the last 16 of the memorial cup and came away with a 2-1 victory.
Evo got off to a bad start, when a long punt forward was misjudged by Kev Hopper and a Tap striker got in behind and sent a half volley over the top of out rushing Barnett.
Simon Lancaster was played in and slotted the ball past Shaka in the Tap goal and it was wrongly ruled out for offside. Both Evo and Tap had chances at either end - Evo's coming from Craig Steele, Richard Day, Phil Nicolson and Matty Perry to no avail.
Evo finally started to play and got the deserved equaliser after about 35 minutes when a scramble in the box fell to unmarked Perry who side footed the ball home.
HALF TIME: Tap & Spile 1-1 Evolution Media Design
A substitution was made at half time with Andy Aisthorpe replacing Phil Nicolson. Aisthorpe went onto the left wing with Lancaster dropping to right back and Beverage joining Steele in attack.
The second half was underway and within minutes Bilton played a clever through ball to Steele to shrugged off the challenge of the defender but put his shot just wide of the post.
Evo again went on the attack and Beverage went down under the challenge from a Tap defender - a certain penalty waved away by the ref.
Nick came on at right back for Lancaster.
Another great ball played in for Craig Steele was cooly struck across the goal and into the far corner to put Evo 2-1 ahead which was followed by a cartwheel and backflip celebration from the striker.
Tap started to push forward and Evo's defence were sitting deep allowing the Tap defence to get within shooting range. A shot struck high over the bar and a great parried saved from Barnett kept the score at 2-1.
A scramble in the box led to a Tap striker going down under a challenge in the box and that was also waved away by the referee. Tap's strikers were starting to drop like flies in the Evo box desperate to be awarded a penalty which were rightly waved away. This led to constant frustration from the Tap manager who was told by the referee 'one more word and your off'.
Evolution did get the win they deserved though and booked their place in the last 8.
