Pattesons 6 – 2 Cambridge Club

Pattesons finished off the season in style putting an already relegated Cambridge Club to the sword.
With 3 key players missing Pattesons were able to bring in squad players and give them a good run out
The game started at a furious pace, Cambridge playing with the wind were playing direct football but the outstanding Henry Lee in the Pattesons Goal was equal to everything they threw at him proving himself to be one of the best young prospects in the Town.
Some good interplay between Winchester and Jagger finished with the latter playing an exquisite through ball to the lively Hannibal who raced past the Cambridge defence and then rounded the keeper to put Pattesons into a deserved lead.
At this point it looked like Cambridge would capitulate with Forbes, Cole, Jagger and Smith winning their battles in midfield.
It was from another through ball from the midfield that striker Hannibal got his second of the game.

Cambridge rallied and from a corner the burly striker stabbed home from short range.

Half time came and went and Pattesons decided to go for the jugular and finish Cambridge off but to the horror of the Pattesons coaching team Cambridge scored straight from the kick off with most of the Pattesons boys looking like they were still eating their oranges!
Sleeves were rolled up and the defence of Williamson, Leonard, Winchester and White effectively shut the door and were not to be breached again.

Smith then finished off a good 3-man move to score his 26th goal of the season a great feat from right midfield.

Hannibal went onto complete his hatrick in fine style and made way for Mann who was effective immediately sending Smith down the wing who put a great cross into Barber who held the ball up beautifully before laying it off for Mann who smashed the ball into the net.
Pattesons at this point were playing some of the nicest football they have played all season, Tom Barber in particular looking really sharp and it was only fitting that the goal of the game came with just minutes on the clock as Captain Cole curled a right footed shot from outside the box into the top corner – just rewards for his hard work throughout the game.
Man of the Match for Pattesons was Lee Hannibal who if he can get a good pre-season behind him must be looking at 30 goals plus next term.
All the players would like to thanks Bruce, Dave and Phil for all their hard work this season.

Out with the old in with the new!
