This was a chance for revenge for Cricks who were beaten 5-2 by Storage at the end of February but the day didn't start that brightly with leading scorer Liam Anderson failing a fitness test and the usually reliable centre-half Karl Nuttall forgetting to put his clock on so it was a chance for Nick Rook to catch Anderson in the race for the top goalscorer award.

Cricks opened brighter and Simon Treacher should have given them the lead but fired over, a great through ball by Kai Haig then found George Eyole, who was in as a replacement for Anderson, and he showed great composure to round the keeper and slot the ball home. Eyole then struck the inside of the far post after some delightful skill and the ball was hacked clear by the Storage defence. Cricks keeper Daz Bowles then made a great save to keep Cricks in charge at half-time.

Rook then had three great chance in quick succession, the first was saved, the second was a shot which almost went out for a throw and finally he headed a Petterson corner over. Nathan Thompson almost scored but his superb effort was not rewarded with a corner as the keeper just got his fingertips to the ball. Rook then grabbed the first of his hat-trick which moves him level with Anderson on 22 goals when he skillfully lobbed the ball over the advancing keeper and into the net. Storages Steve Robinson was then had a shot saved by Bowles and they then pulled a goal back when the Cricks defence allowed the ball to bounce in the area which was seized upon by a Storage forward who confidently swept the ball home. Storage were having their best spell of the game now and a free-kick just outside the area saw the crossbar struck before the ball was cleared. Gaz Deakins then had his now customary shot which flew just over before Haig again became provider when his through ball found Rook who confidently struck the ball home to give Cricks a 3-1 lead.
Eyole could have wrapped it up but fired wide and then Rook found himself in acres of space on the left and needed no invitation to stride forward and wrap things up with his hat-trick goal which moves him level with Anderson.

Ref Barry Paine had a decent game too.

He's 19 I think, he only signed for us at the end of February, seems a nice enough kid though.
