Cricks returned to winning ways with a comfortable 4-0 win over FC Locomotive in Division 7.

Cricks took the lead early on when Loco failed to deal with a long throw from Gaz Deakins and when Simon Treacher flicked the ball on with his head there was Terry Petterson sliding in to score. Loco should have equalised soon after but Cricks were thankful for Daz Bowles save to keep them ahead. Loco were struggling to cope with Deakins long throws and from his next one Cricks went 2 up. This time the benifciary was Nick Rook who spun in the area and hammered the ball home. The 3rd goal came when Liam Anderson and Nick Rook played a nice 1-2 and Rook ran on to strike the ball home. Deakins thought he had finally broken his duck for the season but stand-in ref Paul Codd after looking to his linesman judged that the ball had not crossed the line. Deakins then had two great chances but the first one was saved and the second one screwed wide. Then came a moment not usually seen in the Cricks team when Treacher connected with an overhead kick, the foundations of New Waltham will surely never be the same again. Loco had a couple of further chance towards the end of the half but rarely threatened Bowles goal.

Deakins then had another excellent chance but saw his long range effort fly just over and Anderson then went on a mazy run, beating 5 or 6 players before screwing his shot horribly wide with only the keeper to beat. Loco did have a couple more half chances but Cricks made it 4-0 with a controversial goal. Petterson and Rook combined to send Anderson scurrying away down the left wing, the Loco players thought the ball had gone out but play was allowed to continue and Anderson made no mistake with his finish this time and then comfortably played out the remainder of the game.

Cricks wish to thank stand-in ref Paul Codd  of Loco, who offered to ref when no appointed official turned up and did a fantastic job.

I saw some blokes in Papua New Guinea skinning their opponents once Treach it looked dead gruesome. They hung them up to dry afterwards and made sleeping bags out of them  http://www.aceboard.net/kator/lool.abgif  http://www.aceboard.net/kator/lool.abgif

I did think about putting that in Treach but if I did we would struggle to get your head through the door in The Cricks at the weekend.
