Gunners watch V Bridge at Bradley gunners won 8-2

Gunners Watch entertained bridge at Bradley an encounter which found the hosts winning by eight goals to two.
Gunners looked dangerous during the early exchanges with Drew Mcfadyen in particular looking very lively.  Infact he had a hand in every goal that was scored, Mcfadyen created the first  on 8 mins by  cruyff turning the defender shooting, and as the ball rebounded back to him he chipped a lovely cross for Briggs to nod home. 1-0.  The gunner’s forward line movement was causing bridge lots of problems, and Mcfadyen again received the ball on the left passed two defenders and crossed for a perfect header by Gig Gorden to make it 2-0.

Gunners were now all over Bridge who where relying on there pace on the wings to get them out of trouble, yet as soon as there passing broke down the ball was sent back to the bridge area. The Midfield of Gig Gorden and Dane Roberts were breaking all of the bridge play up at every opportunity.
Goal number 3 came from Luke Clasper/Marshall, he received the ball 25 yards out on the left hand side of the area from Mcfadyen, cracking it in first time like a missile with the bridge goal keeper floundering, within two more minutes Lewsam had scored, a slide rule ball in from Mcfadyen met Lewsam who turned three defenders to place the ball in the bottom corner.  Gunners then took control of the match and never looked like losing it.

Goal number five came from Luke Clasper/Marshall, Mcfadyen who latched on to a through ball from  Powers then tussled with a defender then proceeded to knock it to Luke who kept on running to the corner flag he cut in side and beat two defenders and from the narrowest of angles he smashed it past the keeper. At half time the talk was of carrying on the same, but as usual when you’re so far in front it’s not easy to carry on at that pace. ( I knew they couldn’t keep that onslaught up )

Bridge came out in the second half and where soon back in to it, a penalty ( cos knobby jay Burton/Marshall handled it ) and a splendidly worked goal soon made it 5-2. This was just what the gunners needed as it woke them up. Substitutions where made and this killed the game off as a match.
Bridges to their credit never gave up and were unlucky on a couple of occasions when they did pass the defence of Briggs, Burton, Power and Forest.  Keeper Mark Lodge was as usual up to the task in hand.

Gunners were soon six goals to the good.  Goal machine Lewsam received a cross field ball took a touch, played a one, two with Mcfadyen then faced with an oncoming keeper, he calmly chipped it in the corner. Goal seven came from hat trick man Luke Marshall who cracked in a 20 yard volley. And not to be out done Bobby Lewsam also grabbed a hat trick, as he received the ball from Mcfadyen, who knocked it onto Roberts who squared it back, he ran at the keeper and with his quick feet placed the ball in the corner.

Credit must be given to the Bridge centre halves for their pace and knowledge in dealing with a bombardment of their area from the Gunners forward line.
Gunner’s man of the match was Drew Mcfadyen who led from the first whistle, his best performance to date in a Gunners shirt; with Two hat tricks scored it shows how well he played to get man of the match..  Ref Mr. Peter Cook was always in control and sensibly refereed the match.  Well done Pete and thanks.
