GUNNERS WATCH FC   V MORTGAGE INVESTMENT SOLUTIONS.

Gunners Watch continued there winning ways but where made to fight all the way against a gritty, hard working, never say die Mortgage Investment solutions side.

Gunners kept up there usual slow start, allowing M.i.s far to much time to use the ball to there advantage on a superb pitch, with both M.i.s forwards allowed to run the game, but the Gunners defence of  Power, Briggs, Burton and Forest where more than a match for them

Gunners controlled the midfield and pressed the game into the M.i.s half. Chris Gorden and Dane Roberts both rising and equal to the challenge. The wind was having a terrible effect on the game Gunners where guilty on several occasions of not keeping it on the floor.  Gunners had several useful chances that went straight at the keeper or just wide, but still Gunners looked sluggish as half time approached. Some choice words where said from the gunners management team, but Gunners still lacked there usual urgency.

. A couple of substitutions at half time and the game changed. Blythe and Osborne coming on, this changed the gunners shape and the football began to flow. This was the wake up call Gunners needed and indeed they started to knock the ball about neatly and almost scored when they broke twice in quick succession.

Gunners Watch though are fast becoming a side that if you don’t take your chances against them they make you pay and this they duly did, after a good corner from Mcfadyen, aimed right in the heart of the M.i.s. penalty box , was that man Jay Marshall who placed a shot right in the corner of the net 1-0 .

 Still Mortgage Investment came forward and Briggs and Blythe in the Gunners defence had put some well timed tackles in to stop the Mortgage attack on several occasions.

Mortgage Investment had lost the early inventiveness and where not passing the ball well at all, as Gunners came alive the pace of Forest, and sub Mason running at defenders was causing great problems and a fine One two between Marshall and Livewire Mason resulted in Mason scoring a great chip over the keepers head from a acute angle 2-0.

The third goal came from Gunners new goal machine Jay Burton who received a fine ball in his own half played several one two’s with Roberts, Mason and a great back heel from Mcfadyen to set Jay up on the edge of the box to let rip with a exocet missile of a shot to score the goal of the game. 3-0. A stunning strike that sent the crowd wild.

Gunners remained on top but the final ball was sometimes disappointing. A special mention for Luke Marshall for donning the keeper’s gloves, he was faultless.

Man of the Match for Gunners was Jay Burton, for two cracking goals and a will to win.  Not the best Gunners display but a thorough battling performance. Ref Mr Gavin Hosford was excellent an on top of play.
