Mortgage Investment Solutions 1-7 Pattesons

Memorial Cup

On a bright warm day at Bradley both sides turned up looking for a place in the next round.
Pattesons came out of the blocks quickest and following a huge kick from keeper Henry Lee who had taken his place back in goal following 1st Choice keeper Paul Johnson breaking his wrist, the electric pace of Hannibal managed to force an error from the MIS keeper handing an easy tap in to Wayne Smith.

Pattesons upped the ante and it wasn't long before Tom Barber beat two players and crashed the ball past the keeper to make it 2.
It was all one way traffic at this point and but for some resolute defending there could have been many more goals.

Shortly before half time Lee Hannibal got his reward for all his hard work with a well taken strike that made the score 3-0 at half time.

MIS made a few changes at half time but Pattesons increased the pressure and after a great 4 man move full back Peter Winchester slotted the ball home at the far post.

Pattesons midfield quartet of Gell, Ward, Smith and captain Clarke were in complete control now and some of the play was the best produced this season.

The fifth was soon to come, Hannibal again running the back four ragged before having his shot blocked by the keeper which fell at the feet of Centre Back Liam White who must have run nearly 60 yards to fire the ball into the back of the net.

Wayne Smith added a sixth with a typical run and shot low past the keeper, this was his 13th of the season a fine return from Right midfield.

Credit to MIS who battled on and brought a couple of good saves out of Lee who was outstanding in goal, along with Cole at Centreback who had once of his best games for the club

MIS did get a consolation goal when Lee was unsighted and allowed the ball to come off him and fell at the feet of the MIS centre forward who tapped the ball in from close range.

The best was left till last, Pattesons were awarded a free kick 30 yards out which Ward planted in the top corner.

The game was played in a great spirit and Pattesons will hope to give a good account of themselves when they face Div 1 side Jubilee next week.

that was a bad idea, you missed goal of the season, do you want me to talk you through it??

The hot beaming sun was beating down on the lush green meadows of bradley pitches, the air pierced by the chanting of pattesonsfc expectant faithful followers, the close pulsating game rested on a knife edge, injury time beckoned and the award of a 35!! yard free kick to the spirited pattesonsfc, the crowd went silent as all there hopes, dreams and asspirations hinged on this moment. Up steped the dashingly good looking and muscular chris ward and with a swift, powerful strike the ball sailed into the top left hand corner leaving the helpless keeper (jase) rooted to the spot. AND THE CROWD GO ABSOLUTLY FUCKING BOLLISTIC!!!!

We would defo be in shock if Ronaldinho scored a goal like that on Bradley - wtf was he doing there in the first place!

Dont worry, its just like my super keeping at the weekend, Bruce said he thought we missed Jonno cos my kicking was shocking!!!!!

I would have stopped your free kick - come to think of it I would probably have caught it one handed!!
