| Author : | Topic: Harlem 2 Grainthorpe 1 | Bottom |
| Blasty Posts : 874 Albion Gaffer!! Is the Season here yet................. |
A hard fought encounter in which Harlem came out 2-1 victors. First half Grainthorpe had the wind and never really used it to their advantage with Harlem looking more dangerous on the break. With the pace of Blake, Thomas and Schofield causing all sorts of problems. Half toime came and it was still 0-0. The second half began and Harlem took and early lead when the Grainthorpe keeper spilled a Vince piledriver to the feet of Ramsey who gladly slotted home for 1-0. 15 minutes later it was 2-0 when Vince hooked into the box for Ramsey to head in for 2-0. Harlem then had several chances to put the game beyond doubt with Thomas being the main culprit missing 3 good chances. This gave Grainthorpe a second wind, hitting the post from a harsh free kick and then pinching a goal with 30 seconds to go. This led to a spell of pressure for the 2 minutes John Leeman added on, with the Harlem keeper being forced into a great save to ensure the Harlem win. A good game played in the right spirit. Credit to Grainthorpe for never giving in. And thanks to John Leeman for his usual 'entertaining' performance!! Bring on the Police next week!! | |||
