the first goal soon followed when from a marshal free kick dunks rose above the jubilee back four to flick the ball in to the top corner 1-0 sports with there first attack on 10 mins,
the play swung end to end and it looked like sports had jubilee rattled,
from a corner jubilee got back on level terms when boulton won a towering header for Todd to react first and was about to nod the ball home when up came keeper Newman who sent Todd and 2 of his own players to the floor, referee guest had no hesitation in awarding the penalty, which was duly converted by Lewis buckthorpe, 1-1 and all to play for, there then followed the defining moment of the match, with Jonathon Taylor allowed a free header in the jube box only a superb save from Brett chittock prevented sports from re-establishing there lead, this forced jubilee in to a period of play were they dominated,
buckthorpe gave jubilee the lead on 25 mins with a low drive from the edge of the box, 2-1 jube it soon was 3-1 when Nathan allenby lashed the ball home from 20 yards, jubilee hit the post, the bar and missed a couple of really good chances to put the game beyond sports, but as half time came 3-1 jubilee looked anything but a winning score line
the second half started with jube increasing there lead all most straight away, after great work by Todd and the excellent brain garrod he unselfishly squared the ball for buckthorpe to complete his hattrick and show Grimsby town what they had missed out on in his recent trial at blundell park, 4-1 jube soon became 5-1 when Luke Todd fashioned a goal for him self firing past keeper Newman from a tight angle to get his richly deserved goal after taking part in all the others,
the inclusion of Marcus Newell saw sports have there best period of the game and sports closed the gap to 5-2 with a well taken goal by dunks that had more than a suspicion of off side about it, sports pressure persisted and good defending denied sports on more than 1 occasion, as time ran out the best was saved while last, with time up on mr guests watch, Newman took a goal kick it fell to Nathan allenby who while playing right back 15 yards inside the jubilee half smashed it back towards goal it flew in the top corner , a quite remarkable goal from all of 60 yards, no fluke he tries it every game and did it against Bradley ams last season, 6-2 the final score and both sides shook hands after a scintillating game that would av don justice to the final never mind the first round,
its just a shame that the 2 sides met so early in the competition and there had to be a loser
the game was excellently refereed by Neil guest, and went of with out incident
