a beautiful morning greeted both sides in this most local of local derbies with both teams running from the same pub not only a place in the next round was at stake but also the bragging rights for the next few weeks,
ref Pete cook got the game under way with wybers tearing into cup holders jubilee, there passion and energy had to be admired and on 18 mins wybers took a deserved lead, with jubilee failing to clear the ball it took a deflection of ryans heel and dropped nicely for cottingham to lash the ball home for 1-0 wybers, jube were in all sorts of bother trying to cope with the pace and energy of blyth, jackson, and cottingham, the game deteriated into a bit of a battle after that and bookings for garod and stinson soon followed with jubilee struggling to contain a rampant wybers team, the game hinged on two incidents, the first saw lee cuthbert limp of and the second followed almost immediately, with cuthbert of the field it allowed Brian garrod the first bit of freedom he had enjoyed and promptly placed an inch perfect pass to Dave Walsh who finished superbly to give jubilee a foothold in a game they were very rarely in as the half time whistle blew, 1-1 and all to play for,
the second half saw jubilee get the game by the scruff of the neck and soon there experience showed, with garrod now given the freedom to play he gave a master class in passing, on 55 mins jubilee took the lead for the first time as Stewart graham notched his first for the season with a sublime finish to cap some good work by Willis and Ritchie, the 3rd soon followed when after great individual work by Luke Todd the ball spilled for Ritchie who unselfishly rolled it to Pete Taylor to lash the ball home from the edge of the box, 3-1 jubilee, had they put the game beyond wybers, not in a million years, the game swung from end to end and both sides had good chances to add to there score, just as the crowd thought the game was drawing to an end another twist occurred, from a wybers corner ref Pete cook adjudged Ryan was pulling cottinghams shirt and awarded a pen that was rifled home by blythe for wybers, 3-2 to jubilee and less than 5 mins left, were wybers gonna stage a comeback, jubilee had other ideas , Todd latched on to a through ball by garrodd and was impeded by Clark, as the players argued the merits of the foul quick thinking by Ian Ritchie saw him take a lovely free kick up rose Bryan garrod to place the ball past Chapman in the wybers goal, 4-2 jubilee and the final whistle soon followed, the game was played in the spirit you would expect from such close rivals, hard but fair with neither side giving an inch and playing with great passion and pride,
dean fisher and Mick hill must be complemented on putting together one of the youngest squads in the league and are a credit to there club, and all looks bright for the future at wybers,

i asked cuth in he pub and he gave me the details so im sorry if there wrong, the ref told me after the game he gave it for ryan pulling cottos shirt, so blame him, but i think you all ready have, lol

dnt matter as long as we got the peno and scored it!!

over all i thought it was a good game to play in, see u in the league  

give the ref credit,for the pen,or did danny flag for it,lol lol.

spoke to the ref today, bumped into him in asda, he cant believe wat was said to im after the game, he says he was shocked, lol, wouldnt tell me wat was said,

about what the penalty decision or the whole game...poor lad did get sum stick!!

Things were not going there way and you usually get some type of comment that you have to report to the league but these two just got onto there players to encourage them and get them to play footy. i even got some friendly banter for my sins..so gud look to them!!! the are doing it right in my eyes

no mick it was in the health food, aisle, i was getting some muslie for my self,

thanx pete we do try and encourage it helps when you've got a strong ref, then again sometimes its out of even ar hands we'll keep going but still got a lot of lads out.cheers av a good un pete
