Newtons Athletic 6v1 GRS Taverners

SCORERS:
Gazz Lee x2
Jameo
Housey
Ant
Deano

1st half Newtons Athletic dominated with GRS Taverners having no shots on goal. 2nd half was a bit more even. 1 shot 1 goal by Taverners... Newtons making 4 changes and changing the goalkeeper. Nice opponents, good clean game.

Excuse me, lukeo, but you weren't playing GRS Taverners.  Lol, I sometimes doubt Ant knows what he;s talking about but even I thought he knew which team he played for.

Fancy a rematch in a couple of weeks?  We're trying to play a few friendlies before it all goes quiet in May so that I can see how good some of our new lads are.  Had 5 newbies in our starting line up in Sunday, 4 of them  under 18.  Would be interesting to see how our first team would do.  Well, so long as they're not all hungover or still in Bradford ha ha.

Thought you were a good team with a couple of stars, no doubt played regularly a bit higher up one or two of your lads?  At present I think you're up there with the top 3 in div 8, which is a good standard, and you're obviously going to build on that.

Thanks for the coments ... Every that played for us (baring 3-4 of my grandads work mates) are my m8s who have mostly all played at a higher level but WILL be playing for us providing we get in the league.

We're happy to play whenever you want (2pm sundays is always a nice time )

You got a game this sunday? If not in a couple of weeks is fine with us

Abatis Solutions.  I'll ask the lads about a game this Sunday.  I imagine the goals at Bradley will be taken down soon, probably after this weekend.  But yeah, could say this Sunday at 2pm, same as last week.  Goals and nets will be sorted as before.  We have a friendly on Thursday so I'll find out by then at the bery latest.  Ironically have about 18 available for Thursdays game.

By the way, anyone else fancying a friendly, we're looking to play Thursday and Sunday from now until May 11th.

We're also looking for friendlies against ANYONE, any division etc ... All we ask is you provide nets if possible because we dont have any, if you want a ref we will organise one and share costs

Yeah lookis like we're up for it.  Can sort nets so if you can get a ref we'll split costs.  Got most of our main squad saying they'll play.

I know where we went wrong
Alex Long played for you once against Redstar (i played for Redstar) and i asked him 3-4 weeks before that who he played for and he said Taverners, so i put 2 and 2 together... Spoke to Ant last night he couldn't remember Alex playing? :P (He come on for us 2nd half at left back last sunday)

Dunno the guy.  Are you sure he came on for us?  I think we lost that game 4-1 and it was 1-1 at half time.  If he did play for us he didn't stay long.  I think you might have played the taverners in a friendly last year, maybe?

Ant was amazed that we'd managed to arrange a game without him knowing.  The boy seriously needs to get on the internet ha ha.

Good game yesterday ... Almost thought i conceded with that effort by your midfielder from about 30 yards out in last 5mins, wouldn't of looked good i'd only been in goal for 5mins :P

Good game and performance from both sides. Apart from the little girls cat fight in 1st half and the ref's 2 decisions :P
