yes you are right there woody they did! i have never said that they didnt! i am freinds with rocky and higgy amd i am not saying this against them i just think lincs like to big them up because they was at town, but like someone else has stated other people didnt always get the chance when they was younger and by that i dont mean myself say someone like ryan smith fucking awesome player he never got a chance and in my eyes i would say he is better then all free of them, like i said nothing against them just evryone has personal opinions and thats mine, who are you by the way woody??

think you'll find ry did have chance big man. he was signed on with lincoln city, by the leg end tht is chris francis. not ryans fault but fucked it all off 4 personal reasons. but in respect 2 ur post ya gotta take a look at danny d. think he deserved the chance more than most

yeah i no he did because i went there with him but he never had any way of getting down there and he was only young, but surely grimsby would of realised how many goals he was scoring.

Town have never given the younger lads a chance untill this season so there not gonna do it to local football lads..think of the players they have released..ash hildred, freddy cass, digger, alan lamb, higgy, miles chamberlain, ashton, graham hockless wardy...some class players..only now they realised thye getting some talent threw the ranks..

Tommy u know me my your mum used to work for mine in town..
Nothing against you or owt mate just the comment u made was a bit daft..u said'none of em are good'..when they obviously are,i never said they were superstar and i think most of the lads i know who been released have lost a lot of interest and would rather play sundays where they dont have any pressure and can enjoy their football without trying to impress anyone..
Anyone that has been on a pro clubs books must be a decent player in the first place..just a shame footballs a harsh game and not everyone can live their dream..
Theres thousands of young quality players in this country but every single one cant be seen or given the oppertunity.

I didnt rate Wardy when i played against him this season. Definately agree with what your saying though especially Hockless - awesome. Realisticly there aint enough clubs for all these great players to play for and thats why we are seeing them in sunday league.

yeh they must be decent but also a lot of "if your face fits" or "who you know", from buckleys first spell at town, 4 of the lads from our junior team got YT's....1 was a well deserved (rob blake), from the others, 1 was the son of the then sports telegraph editor, 1 the son of the chairman of the youth development association and the other was the son of Arthur Mann, and obviously neil mann went onto play numerous first team games at Hull, so he mustv had summats about him,  but in junior footy he was more often than not, a sub, but cos he got a favourable nod he got his chance when many others in our team where a lot better.

cant see someone like town chosing players coz of someone you know,

in my early days by far the best footballer was phil baxter, had various trials at top clubs but was also looking for that real top club, where as chris hargreaves, just was happy to stick with town, when he was younger he was a lot stronger bigger faster, than everyone else, i personally thought he  wud be just a normal player wen everyone catches him up, but he been a pro for years and still going strong, its all about opinions, players are more likely to rate players they see week in and week out, not just someone they play twice a season, thats why they go for there own players

yeh i know

yeh phil baxter and hargreaeves was in the humberthem team a year above o me (and only yesterday found an old presentation night picture wiv about 4 teams of humbertherms on, few lads on there still playin now and even on this site) and wasnt much between them so prob is a lot of levelness at that age but then the chosen ones get to train wiv pros, are trained by pros in a pro environment so will obviously move on, like the Neil Mann thing, wasnt even a regular in a team at 15/16 but ends up wiv a YT and a pro contract, so u cant tell me that arthur mann wasnt bending buckleys ear sayin, giv our neil a contract.....and then buckley sayin, ok just as long as my lads can have one too

Think Hockless is playing for Richmond now aint he? He can play alot higher than that he was one of the best players at Town when he was there.

all of them players played in the youth team at the same time as me, andy ward broke his ankle when he was younger and never really recovered, rocky had a bad injury 2 his knee, got given a YT contract extension but then got released, higgins was youth captain the year after i got released won the cup and then got released himself, ashton came to town from leicester and stayed in the same digs as chamberlain, both got 1st year pros i think then got chucked. the youth team when i was there was quality and town did let alot of good players go, lighthowler, hyam, nimmo, and like you said all them others. all of them are good players but i dont think that will count for an awful lot after a season or 2 when they dont train everysingle day. i know i went down hill a bit after leaving. and tommy tinker is a shit player!!! ha
