Still going to be very close, haven't you guys lost more points though, for not turning up against grainthorpe. We heard they had claimed the points after you didnt turn up.

our manager rang grainthorpes on sunday to see how they had got on against buddies, and he said that they had claimed the points against you because you didn't turn up, and all grainthorpe and the referee had actually gone to the ground and were ready for the game.

After taking 10 minutes to decifer this message I would just like to say that its not up to the home team to ring up the away team and tell them if they play on a council pitch or not.

Grainthorpes is a private pitch, and was fit to play. Your manager should know that it was a private pitch, as it states in the handbook that all teams are given by the league commitee at the beginning of the season. Grainthorpes manager also said it was a league commitee memeber who told them to claim the points.
Would ask your manager or secretary mate. But to me, i reckon the league will give graintorpe the win, as both their team and a referee was at the ground.

Dunno the exact circumstance but if De Kyme were too stupid to realise then I would say so.

Hope so in a way, because that way it would take a bit of pressure of at the top of the league.
Really looking forward to the last 6 games.Never won a league title before and really believe we can do it this year. But still got some tough games to play.

If it's as straight forward as it seems ie The home team turns up and the ref turns up as normal at their home ground and wait for the opposition to turn up but they dont materialise then the home team will succesfully get the 3 points. Doesnt matter what excuse the away team have. They thought the pitch was council, it was pissing down with rain, the dog ate the kit its all irrelavent and waiting for the home team to tell you the game is off should only be done by private pitch clubs. The council pitches are called off quite publicly in the GET, on this forum or on the offical site plus word of mouth. If you are into local footy then you know if your games on or off. If you are not sure then you turn up. Bit of a pisser seeing as you couldve stayed in bed but so fuck thats what you entered into when you signed the league entry form and your registration forms!!!I do feel as if ive wasted my breath on the obvious but i was bored

I play for the de kyme and didnt have a clue that grainthorpe had claimed the points against us. As far as i knew the game was going to be rescheduled because it was called off. If it wasnt called off all i can think is that between then and now our manager quit so maybe he just couldnt be arsed with it all.

Teams taking the points really annoys me (i know this might hit a chord with some people) but if it is a genuine mistake what is the harm in replaying the game...at the end of the day thats all we want to do.

This will mean we will have lost 3 games this year and only actually played one of them.

Anyway rant over!

look at it from other teams point of view, they get up get there in piss pourin rain only to find no oppo...you'd be pissed off too and think ok we need points for promotion or save relegation, so wud u take them guaranteed or risk losing them wen u play??

I can see their point of view, and yes id be annoyed but i think i can honestly say that id want to play the match. Last time we played grainthorpe it was a close match were both teams enjoyed it and i was looking forward to playing it again. They arent gonna get promotion, nor are they going down so the only reason for them to claim points is to stop us getting promotion.

With our league there are plenty of spare weeks were teams arent playing so we could easily play the match...and lets face it if we are willing to travel all the way to grainthorpe for a match thats gotta count for something!lol We may lose anyway, but stealing points through a back door isnt in the spirit of amatuer football.

Remember a few years Arsenal VS sheff utd and arsenal score a goal after taking a throw in that would normally go back to the keeper?? both teams decided to replay.....now thats the spirit of football!

Again another long rant...sorry

Bottom line is its your clubs mistake for wotever reason Wadey and not theirs. Thats probably the way the Lincs FA will view it. Tis ok suggesting to replay it but for them itll mean an extra week when they could use the ref for another game. If it were the other way round were you would be guaranteed the 3 points towards promotion theres no one on this planet that wouldnt take the easy way out. Maybe your hunger for the game would say you would rather replay it genuinly but if you missed out on winning the league or promotion by those 3 points you couldve defo had then you would be pissed off m8 and lets not fotget, however a genuine mistake it is, your club has given the opposition a reason to take the easy way out thru no fault of their own.

good point.....looks like we will lose the points anyway, just a gutter isnt it that this league could be won on technicalities.

Not sure how the points work out now, but if we win every game i think we will still get the league! (im just after a piss up obviously!lol)
