Not gone quiet, just not been near a PC. Fair play to Striders they probably just about deserved the win on Sunday. Cracking penalty save by their keeper with what was the last kick of the game.

We have blown our chances now really, deserved something out of both games since christmas but have come away with nothing. We havent taken our chances in front of goal and lost last week with an own goal and this week with 2 pieces of suicidal defending. We will keep going til the end of the season but having now played all of the top sides, whilst it is an open division, I think it is there for the taking for Greenlands. Definitely the best footballing side we have come across in the league.

Again well done Striders for the win at the weekend!

Hope your right blasty.i haven't seen buddies play yet so don't really know what to expect from them on sunday. We have put ourselves in a strong position with a good win over Harlem before xmas. But their is still a lot of football to be played before a team lifts the championship trophy.

They are a strong physical side. Must have an average age in the squad of about 35! They have got plenty of know how and dont mind mixing it. Well organised at the back but lack pace generally throughout the side, you have a couple of pretty quick forwards do if the service to them is good, you will cause them problems all day long. They have 2 guys in the middle of the park who are at the centre of everything good that they do, if you can keep them quiet you will keep the whole side quiet. Their main strengths are at set pieces they are pretty good in the air and their delivery from corners and free kicks was generally spot on. PLUS one of the guys in the midfield has an absoulute bomb of a throw in on him..goes for miles.

Im pretty sure that if your mmidfield works hard, you should be able to turn them over.......like I said you lot are the best footballing side we have come across this season.

If thats the case we have a young team who is full of energy so could be leathal against an old team. And if they mix it our back 4 will be well up for a tussle.
Plus we have got our leathal forward back, who is quicker than the two we have up front at the minute. He scored 6 in our first game of the season against grainthorpe and hasn't played since because he has been away on national service with the marines. so that should add to the team.
But got to say you have a good team blasty, apart from the slowish full backs you have got you look strong.

Its definatley between the top 4 teams, the good thing is we have buddies to play twice, and Dekyme once so i still reckon its anyones who has a good run. Good thing is were doing well against the better teams, beating Dekyme once already, and Harlem twice.

Everyone seems to be slipping up a bit so looking forward to seeing who grabs it. I watched the striders v de kyme game and dekyme were very poor, they will need to play better than that to win it.

If I can find time in my busy schedule I will try to pop out there and have a look Andy!!

Its always good to keep an eye on the opposition eh??

Had a good look at Buddies before we played them a fortnight ago and to be fair we kept them pretty quiet but when we had our chances we never took them. They had 2 shots on goal in 90 minutes (one which I keeper saved and 1 which hit the post) but we gifted them the 3 points with an own goal.  smile/mad.gif In all honesty we havent hit the ground running after xmas which is a surprise cause all the lads trained hard over the xmas period.

Greenlands 1 v HCA 0

think they deserved it that little bit more,, we were very poor at times. make shift back 4 always looked like conceding, and they lived up to their promise.

never mind roll on to next week, and well done greenlands

Think to be honest we did create more chances, although it was a bit of a lucky goal, but think we did deserve it.
was hard to play any decent football with a swirling wind.
but the league is gettin very close, with buddies droppin points.
should be an interestin few weeks ahead.
