Redstar Smarts News 1 - 5 Jubilee Congrats all round to the Redstar boys,my lads gave their all and we were even 1-0 at halftime which gave the jube lads a bit of a shock! We had a couple of 1 on 1's to make it 2-0 but fair play to the jube, they took their chances and we didnt,5-1 was very harsh,4-2 would have been a fair result but if the jube are the best team in the sunday league then i know that my squad are heading in the right direction.Best of luck to the jube in the next round

to be frank tezza and i dont mean to offend anyone who plays for the jube and reads this, before the game i thought we would have got a 7 nil thumping at least but afterwards i was dissapointed we didnt win the game.Everything they hit went in i thought, they had 5 chances and scored them all whereas we didnt.I havent seen the seas play this season but going on results and knowing gaunty and a few ex players then i dont see why you cannot do better than them.In your honest opinion,if you didnt know any better, could you say that you would have thought the jube were a div 1 team after watching their performance today?Put it this way,Harriets Imperial in our division beat us 8-1 and i think they are miles better than the jube after todays showing. You never know, the jube mightve had an off day or rested players as their league results show they can go well clear in div 1 if they win their games in hand.I just think if thats the best Grimsby has to offer then the standards have dropped dramatically.1 final note, what do you make of all that pro warm up stuff? To me its a waste of time but thats just my opinion.I'm all for stretching pre game but that kinda stuff makes teams who do it look very silly if they lose to a team swigging beer and smoking and ive been there!I'll get a chance to see the seas this season and i'll give you my unbiasted view of your lot tezza.

I would say the "pro team stretching" goes along way to preventing injury, especially on a cold day. It also creates a team atmosphere. Each to their own. Re: the Jubilee, judge a team on its silverware. They are the best, because they are the current champions. |
| chiffy admin Posts : 3083 teamredstar.com |
So it takes critisism of a div 1 team to wake you up fab!!If you read my post correctly i didnt say there was anything wrong with streching i said the pro warm up ie jogging up and down the pitch and doin exercises in tandom.Isnt that what training is for?I'm sure you as a team have lost to opposition that just turn up and line up against you.Doesnt that make the whole thing a nonsense?Like i said im all for stretching and a sensible warm up is done by all naturally but these guys go over the top in my opinion. That opinion may be wrong but i am entitled to it as you are with yours now dont forget to close your coffin lid on the way out

chiffy i have to say we lost 4-3 to the jube and gave em a own goal had em pegged in there area for last fifteen mins. did they wimbeldon u with the long ball, they did us an caught us out. but i have to say after playing a few of the top teams they all do that warm up thing, i for one now agree with it it gets every one in the right frame of mind and up for it,an loosens all the muscles . a bit of team bonding i fink

i tell you what lads we(the val) did it for the first time this season before the fairdeal game an we all know what happened there dont we i recon what chiffy says is about right i fink you can go overboard but a little loosening up is fine with me. i wonder what trev thinks about it' we havent played since fairdeal but if you read this trev my opinion is to keep it as it was lets not try to fix something that aint broke true boy's? |

its all about not getting caught cold when the whistle blows. we do it every week at the seas and no-one complains it helps us remember who were meant to pass to aswell lol + it gives most of us a second wind b4 the game starts lmao |

chiffy as for sundays game how the jub's keeper stayed on the pitch after your player went through (one on one and took him clean out only mr clark knows)as for the prematch warm up i wont get drawn in on that one.as we do before every game.going back to the game i thought your lads deserve alot of credit !!! mate
